We're a socialy conscious and politically responsible band growing as musicians and having a good time the whole way through. We dish out aggressive and heavy music that inspires moshing and that wonderful feeling of adrenaline. This band has grown a great deal since they first got together. The music and lyrics have matured a great deal. dirtbred has attained a strong following in their local city and provence and hope to do so all over the world.
Representing Hardcore Music and Politically Hardcore Ideals. Dirtbred is Troy Bleich, Aaron Eberle, Donovan Turner, Luc Hart, Roque Andres Jr. The project of Dirtbred was formed from the ashes of necessity. Two individuals struggling to create a politically responsible band with a strong social conscience. Combining the intensity of their frusturation, a new breed of hardcore was to be raised, formed and focused. In the winter months of 2001 Mark Wilson and Troy Bleich struck the spark that was to become the future intensity of Dirtbred. Sharing a love for music and the respect for each others contrasting view points were some of the only concepts shared at the conception of Dirtbred. The roots of Dirtbred stem from the friction of these opposing viewpoints; these viewpoints fueled a floodgate of inspiration, which formed the base of the Dirtbred sound. With years of experience playing in local bands, Troy for the first time had an ear to his ideas and arrangements. Utilizing his raw, energetic and experimental approach to song writing and combining it with Marks extremely experienced, versatile and unique percussion style was to create and new breed of sound which is flatland hardcore. As with most bands the revolving door of musicians came and went with no impact on the progress of Dirtbred. Within a years time Dirtbred released two four songs demos attaining local exposure as well as play on Regina radio station, CJTR. The backbone of Dirtbred remained held together by the determination of Mark and Troy. This all changed in the winter months of 2002 when Mark announced he would be leaving to pursue other musical interests in Sweden. Not leaving on bad terms, Mark hand-picked his proposed replacement - 18 year old drumming instructor, Aaron Eberle. With Aaron’s far more aggressive, belligerent and seemingly endless potential Dirtbred was transformed and reformed into the ideal in which Troy had only hoped for. Combined with the solid line-up of Donovan Turner on vocals and Roque Andres Jr. on bass, only one thing remained out of place - a second guitarist. This problem was solved with the discovery of Aaron's long time friend, guitarist Luc Hart. Luc's quick learning combined with his impressive playing ability easily gained him the last and final spot in the Dirtbred line-up. Soon after Dirtbred entered the studio to record their first independently funded full-length studio album. With only thirty hours recording and mixing Dirtbred released their first nine song self-titled album in July of 2003. With plans of a Western Canadian tour in early Aug 2003, Dirtbred will be taking their album on the road and from here on we stand. Dirtbred is far from stagnant, continuing to grow, evolve and improve. We refuse to allow limitations to be placed on ourselves. We refuse to allow limitations to be placed on our band, all change will happen through effort. Band Members Donovan Turner Donovan Turner - Vocalist Donovan's vocal style is a versatile array of screams. He also harnesses the ability to sing melodically, which has proven useful to expand the possibilities of the Dirtbred sound. His composed lyrics usually consist of writings of a political nature. This allows him to vent the frustration and anger into the already aggressive and adrenaline inducing music. Aaron Ebberle Aaron Ebberle - Precussion After Mark Wilson's final disision to move and travel the world, dirtbred was forced to carry on without him. However, Mark's co-worker and fellow teacher at the acadamy of music was asked to try-out for the band. Members of Dirtbred were more than pleased with Aaron's abillity to break out the beats and turn the riffs into the heavy and energetic songs that they are. Aaron's ability of double kick has added to the metal aspect of the band's overall sound. Troy Bleich Troy Bleich - Guitar, Backup Vocals Troy Bleich has been involved with music and bands since his very early teens. His wide range of talents and abilities to play bass, guitar, and drums are an asset to his writing skills. Dirtbred is Troy's first band where is imput is heeded and tempered into the songs, a luxury he lacked in his other bands. Finnaly Troy was able to be involved in the heavy hardcore mosh inducing music he craved to be a part of for so long. Roque Andres Jr. Roque Andres Jr. - Bass Roque, primarely a guitarest, was approached by Troy and asked to fill the spot of the old bassist, who was leaving to B.C. Roque happily accepted. His enthusiasm and uncanny manager-like abilities has helped the band out a lot. Roque, combining extreme style and enthusiasm with musical grace created his presence a necessity for the over all stage and musical performance of the Dirtbred line-up. Luc Hart Luc Hart - Luc Hart is the latest addition the the Dirtbred Line up and is the band's first experience with a double guitar arsenal. Luc's style and ability has added to the thickness of Dirtbred's aggressive approach towards music. Luc was the last piece welded into the Dirtbred frame, from here on the foundation and structure of Dirtbred continues to grow.
